Our Kitchen Porters are the glue that holds our kitchens together, they play a key role in ensuring we’re setup for success before, during, and after service.
Duties
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with food hygiene regulations, keeping surfaces, walls, handles, equipment and floors hygienically clean at all times.
- Provide a safe working environment in the kitchen and ensure that all equipment is working correctly. If there are any issues, ensure that they are reported to the Chef in charge.
- Support the team with deliveries of new products, adhering to management instructions where requested.
- Ensure adequate stocks of service equipment such as oval trays, sauce boats, plates, chip & salad bowls and chopping boards.
- Ensure that waste bins are emptied regularly and other waste is not allowed to build up anywhere in the kitchen.
- Ensure that bin areas are kept neat and tidy at all times and that cardboard is compacted and stored correctly.
- Ensure that all blue roll dispensers and sanitising bottles are filled up for the Chefs to use.
- Ensure that the kitchen is closed down correctly at the end of each shift, making sure that work areas are hygienically clean and equipment is left clean and ready for next day’s service.
